Space Geek Auction
Buzz Aldrin's Apollo 11 moon landing jacket set for auction and could fetch up to $2-million! This is the only garment that's flown into space that is still privately owned -- and that -- is a big deal. Southeby's Auction House says the coat is one of many items owned by the astronaut that will be up for auction tomorrow, Tuesday, July 26th. Aldrin says the time is right for these historical mementos to be passed on to the rest of the world. The 'Buzz Aldrin: American Icon' sale will be a live auction featuring 69 items. Tomorrow's event kicking off Sotheby's 'Geek Week' series consisting of four sales celebrating science and discovery. Get out your piggy bank ;)
Barbie Blasts-Off!
Space X launching an astronaut Barbie in a newly announced joint venture with toy-maker Mattel. The new line of toys and collectibles are inspired by aerospace company Tesla and co-founder/CEO Elon Musk. The figures slated for release in 2023 will include a Matchbox Mars Rover toy vehicle. The new venture, designed to promote space exploration, features two Barbies traveling to the International Space Station. The hope is to encourage girls to consider careers in tech, science and engineering. Barb's come a long way from her Malibu beach house for sure.
Clowning Around in the Workplace
Co-workers Amber and Emily-- part of an office group that put together a surprise birthday party for their boss whom everyone loves ;) There was a set budget, they'd all agreed to and chipped in, but Emily deviated from the plan and hired her brother as 'surprise' entertainment. Brother is a clown/mime ( clime ) and SHE paid HIM her portion of the party pot and says she should now not be responsible for her portion of the overall party budget that she'd originally agreed to. Amber (and the others) say no- she should still be paying her fair share of the overall party expenses because she went rogue by pulling this entire stunt with her clime brother.
To the Moon and Back
Today, July 20, 2022 we celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the moon landing. For it was on this date in 1969 astronaut Neil Armstrong proclaimed throughout the land, "One giant leap for mankind". An on-line poll today on Reddit asked the question: Do you think we'll have people living on the moon or mars permanently within the next 50 years? What do you think? Over 1,000 people responded to the poll question - to which 27% answered 'probably by then', and another 10% saying saying it is 'very likely'. Time to celebrate!
Two Girls, One Hurl
Laura and Kimber, dance moms/friends go out for a little luncheon/cocktail hour. Laura, our defendant, the driver. Kimber, the plaintiff, is passenger who vomits in Laura's car on the way home from lunch. Now Laura wants Kimber to pay for a professional detailing of her vehicle but Kimber says - nope, no way -- she does however she does offer to clean Laura's van herself. Thoughts?

You Break it Momma Won't Buy It
Kelly and Taylor, neighbors, their sons are friends and had a bit of biking accident while they were playing outside - Brendan was letting his friend Sam ride his brand new birthday present, $300- BMX bicycle, Sam collided with a curb and there was fairly major damage; dented fender, handlebars all wonky and chain off and damaged. Brendan's mom, Kelly, wants Sam's mom, Taylor, to pay for the bike.
Today we celebrate National Chimpanzee Day
Part of the celebrating includes the introduction of a new Jane Goodall Barbie - replete with little teeny binoculars, a field guide and a petit chimpanzee. Mattel Inc says the new doll is made from recycled, ocean-bound plastics. The launch coincides with the 62 year anniversary of Goodall's historic journey as she began (what was to become) her life long to study chimpanzees in Tanzania's Gombe National Park. Goodall, now 88, says she'd wanted her own likeness in a doll even before Mattel approached her. Her new doll part of Barbie's "Inspiring Women Series' which features and honors female role models and trailblazers throughout history.
This could cause fight at wedding
Buddies Shawn and Brandon in Vega$ celebrating a mutual friends bachelor party weekend - - sharing a pricey hotel room as are some of the other guys at the party. Come to find out ... Brandon snores.... badly. Shawn's a dad with several kids at home, says he never gets out to have fun and Brandon has ruined his out of town bachelor party get away. Shawn wants Brandon to pay him back his share for the expensive hotel weekend-- Brandon's not having it.
