Space X launching an astronaut Barbie in a newly announced joint venture with toy-maker Mattel.  The new line of toys and collectibles are inspired by aerospace company Tesla and co-founder/CEO Elon Musk.  The figures slated for release in 2023 will include a Matchbox Mars Rover toy vehicle.   The new venture,  designed to promote space exploration,  features two Barbies traveling to the International Space Station.  The hope is to encourage girls to consider careers in tech, science and engineering.  Barb’s come a long way from her Malibu beach house for sure.
