Madison PD - armed robbery on bike path
Heads up riders- Madison Police say a person in a mask stepped in front of a rider on the bike path near Sargent Street and Dennett Drive around 10:30 Saturday night. Police confirm they are investigating the incident where the masked man stepped in front of the bike rider, pointed a gun and demanded his bicycle. The victim got off the bike, the suspect rode away and there were no injuries in the incident. MPD quickly set up a perimeter but did not find the suspect.
Thor: Love and Thunder premieres nationwide
A new Marvel, sure -to-be summer block-buster, premiering for the weekend! Chris Hemsworth back fighting alongside his Guardians of the Galaxy gang in the beginning of this latest Thor incarnation.... they wander off after about the first 30 minutes of the film but after that it's allllll big names and big action. Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Russell Crowe in a really cool cameo as Zeus, Matt Damon and even Melissa McCarthy in this weekend premiere garnering mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives Thor a so-so 69% approval rating but many critics agree; if it's summer fun you're looking for -- Thor: Love and Thunder is for you! Gift Cards for Guns buy back event set
August 13th at the Alliant Energy Center- The Dane County Sheriff's Office and Madison Police Department will host their annual 'Gift Cards for Guns' buyback event in efforts to reduce gun violence in our communities. Anyone is able to turn in any unwanted weapons in exchange for gas and grocery gift cards -- no questions asked. Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said during a news conference announcing details of the event, "There are too many guns in the hands of people who should not have them and we must confront the epidemic of gun violence that threatens all of us each and every day." Stranger Things Season 4 Fails to save Netflix
Stranger Things Season 4 .... Number 1 on Netflix Top 10 Lists in 91 countries! 91! Viewership for the Sci-Fi/Horror hit at 1.15 billion and growing but.... not enough to save Netflix 2nd quarter. Overall Netflix stock still down about 70% despite some short-term relief provided by the final two episodes of Season 4 released Friday- Also Friday due to the overwhelming viewership levels -- pushing the platform beyond it's limits - crashed the streaming service for about two hours. Netflix cut about 300 workers at the end of June and just laid off an additional 150 as their stock price continues to weaken. Worth over $600 share in January but yesterday, Tuesday at close of business, trading at about $183-

Putin off the West
Russian President Vladimir Putin shooting back at Western leaders after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau joked that G7 leaders should take their clothes off to show they are tougher than Putin. A not -so-thinly- veiled reference to the photo that circulated a few years ago with the Russian President riding his horse bareback and bare-chested/topless. A photo op meant to publicize his athleticism and physical prowess. Speaking to reporters this morning in Russia, Putin said that, unlike him, Western leaders abuse alcohol and don't engage in athletics -- explaining, "I don't know how they'd want to undress, above or below the waist? But I think it would be disgusting in either case." Re: He's inferring they don't exercise.
Single Mom's 'Only Fans' Causes Trouble
Two moms, friends, Sharon and Lisa, go head to head over Lisa's 'Only Fans' on-line activities. Their 9 yr. old sons are buddies and Sharon, our plaintiff on this episode of Country Courthouse, Sharon doesn't like it. She wants Lisa to stop. Record travel ahead for 4th of July
In case you live in a cave and haven't heard yet.... Independence Day holiday travel this year expected at or approaching record levels. The Transportation Security Administration is screaming their best travel advice from the mountain tops, "Get to the airport EARLY!!" In what the TSA is calling a harbinger of things to come later this week -- this past Friday they screened 2.5 million flyers-- the highest daily total since right before the pandemic set it. AAA says July 1st, Friday is shaping up to be the busiest day for air travel for the 4th holiday. For all you road warriors -- AAA says the afternoons of Thursday (6/30) and Friday will be the most crowded for driving because you get the mix of regular commuters leaving work and holiday travelers getting out of Dodge. They therefore recommend earlier in the morning or after 8 or 9pm for at least a little driving relief. The motor club says July 3rd and 4th are expected to be the lightest days for traffic. Orange Hair Doesn't Have Appeal
Megan is a stylist and colorist who's done Karrie's hair recently - however- as much as she cautioned Karrie ahead of time, as a brunette trying to go many shades lighter, that this would not be the best option for her -- Karrie went for it anyway and now has orange hair. Karrie wants her money back - let's listen in shall we.......
