August 13th at the Alliant Energy Center-   The Dane County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Police Department will host their annual ‘Gift Cards for Guns’  buyback event in efforts to reduce gun violence in our communities.  Anyone is able to turn in any unwanted weapons in exchange for gas and grocery gift cards — no questions asked.   Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said during a news conference announcing details of the event,  “There are too many guns in the hands of people who should not have them and we must confront the epidemic of gun violence that threatens all of us each and every day.”  Again – August 13th Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
