University of Tennessee Fallout Following Alabama Upset

The Volunteers beat Alabama for the first time since 2006 over the weekend in a thrilling nail-bitter of a game from Neyland Stadium.  The final score  52- 49 University of Tennessee.  After the victory fans stormed the field, knocked down the goalposts and carried them out of the stadium — and dumped them in the nearby Tennessee River.  The university has been fined by the SEC  $100k for fans rushing the field and now there is a home game this coming Saturday.  The school is now on socials asking for donations for new goal posts.  As of early Monday they’ve raised $42,000 of the $150,000 needed but …. donations slowed considerably after one comment on Twitter last night reading, ‘Why can’t the athletic department buy them after the ended the last fiscal year with an operating budge surplus of $750,000+  ??   Now that – is the $64,000 question is it not?   Hhhmmm…….
