So this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 4th and 5th – the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources hosting their 10th annual ‘Free Fun Weekend’.  Their spokeswoman, Missy Vanlanduyt, says, “Wisconsin has some of the most incredible natural beauty in the country.  And for those who’ve yet to venture out and about in our state’s natural areas, this weekend is the perfect chance to sample outside.”  In the past few years visitation to Wisconsin state parks has increased over 25%.  ‘Free Fun Weekend’ includes free admission to any of Wisconsin’s 49 state parks, 15 state forests, as well as state trail systems and waterways.  For maps, locations and detailed info please visit:  dnr.wisconsin.gov

And — if you are already hooked –  annual passes are $28- for vehicles with Wisconsin plates and all proceeds go toward maintaining our parks.  You can purchase on line or at any state park.  Happy outside weekending!!
