Harry Potter fans can look forward to seeing Daniel Radcliffe on the big screen once again. This time, though, he won't be playing a wizard. Radcliffe is slotted to play the lead in a reinvention of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
This rendition of Shelley's classic story will be told through the eyes of Igor, Dr. Frankenstein's hunchbacked assistant. Radcliffe, who will play Igor, will be joined by James McAvoy as Dr. Frankenstein.
Radcliffe and McAvoy will also share the screen with Jessica Brown Findlay, who you may recognize as Lady Sybil from Downton Abbey. 23 year old Brown-Findlay will play a trapeze artist who becomes very close with Igor after he saves her from an accident.
The film will be directed by Paul McGuigan and produced by John Davis. McGuigan is best known for directing "Push" and "Lucky Number Slevin." The script was written by Max Landis. Casting began about a month ago, with names of up-and-coming actors like Toby Kebbell and Jack Huston in the mix.
Production on this Frankenstein film will begin this fall and the film is set to be released on October 17, 2014.
