Not sure exactly why the Pope has to change, unless it's a "George/Jorge" thing. My name change happened because of a perceived image problem as a Top 40 DJ. My boss, at that time, said "George is a fine name, but it sounds like an accountant's name. No knock on accountants, but we don't want our DJs to have an accountant's image. Need something cooler.."
Now it seems that George is actually pretty cool. There are two small kids on my block named George. And, check out what you get when you google George.
