The stars of the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie were announced last week. Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey and the character of Anastasia Steele will be brought to life by Dakota Johnson.
Hunnam says that he was convinced to take on the role by not one, not two, but three leading ladies. The film's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson suggested that the hesitant actor do a read-through with Johnson before accepting the role. Hunnam admitted that "As soon as we got in the room, I knew that I definitely wanted to do it." He also commented that support from his long-time girlfriend, Morgana McNelis, sealed the deal.
Charlie Hunnam is best known for his work on hit show Sons of Anarchy, but he made is debut in Queer as Folk. Dakota Johnson is a former model whose film and television work range from The Social Network to little-known sitcom Ben and Kate. Both actors have expressed excitement regarding the project.
