Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, John Mayer, Gregg Allman, and others are getting together to pay tribute one of my favorite artists, the late great Levon Helm of The Band.
The "Love for Levon" benefit concert will be held Oct. 3 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. It will include performances from such artists as My Morning Jacket, Ray LaMontagne, Patty Griffin, Bruce Hornsby, Mavis Staples and Joe Walsh. Proceeds from the concert will support Levon's estate and his Midnight Ramble concerts.
I don't know anybody that could drum and sing quite like Levon who died of throat cancer earlier this year at age 71.

Hollywood producer Tony Scott leapt to his death on Sunday. Reports are all over the place on why he did it. Some say he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
The saddest part of this story is that there are now multiple people shopping around video of his jump from the bridge. (They are hoping news organizations will pay big buck for the suicide video.)

Randy Travis was arrested Tuesday night in Texas on suspicion of DWI after crashing his car.Travis was charged with “retaliation” because he verbally threatened a cop during the bust.
He was arrested at 11:59PM with minor cuts and bruises. He was also booked on a “retaliation and obstruction” charge … a felony. Randy is currently still in custody.
It’s his 2nd arrest this year — back in February, Randy was busted for public intoxication for allegedly boozing in front of a Baptist church. According to the police report, Randy said he had just gotten into a fight with his girlfriend.
